Bwabwata National Park

One of the most unspoiled national parks in Namibia. Known for the Kwando horseshoe bend and the world's highest elephant population density. At sunset it is not uncommon to find large numbers of elephants, buffalo, hippos, giraffes and impalas at the horseshoe .The National Park is divided into several smaller areas ( Kwando Core Area, Buffalo Park, mahango Park, Mudumo Park and Mamili Park), in which a large number of hyenas, wild dogs and leopards occur. This National Park is so special to me because, Sitatunga, Red lechwe and Puku are, in Namibia, no where else to be found originally. Compared to the Etosha National Park, the possibility to see Sable and Roan antelope here is much higher.

The Bwabwata National Park is part of the Kavango - Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, which is, with 444,000 square kilometres the world's second largest conservation area. It includes the countries of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
