Cape Cross Seal Colony
Here Diogo Cão acceded in 1486 the mainland in this region and erected a stone cross. He was probably the first
European to accede the mainland here. Not only Diogo Cão found this place ideal to go ashore, but also the
South African Fur Seal. These have established a colony here with about 250,000 animals. It is one of the largest seal
colonies on the mainland. It's a pleasure to watch these animals while sunbathing or playing around.
