Duwisib Castle is a "German knight's castle" in the middle of the Namibian savanna. The Saxon artillery officer
Hans Heinrich von Wolf build this castle in 1908. He had recently married a wealthy American woman and wanted to
fulfil a dream with a thoroughbred horse breed here. During a boat trip to Europe in 1914 he received the news of
the outbreak of the First World War. He volunteered for military service and died 1916 during the war in France.
His wife never returned to the castle.
