Skeleton Coast
skeleton Coast is a thin strip of land along the northern coast of Namibia. The name derives from numerous whale and
seal bones which are lying along the coastline. The cold Benguela current, the fog, the high waves and unpredictable
currents made ??this coast very dangerous to navigation. Thus one finds many shipwrecks along the coastline. Castaways
had no chance of survival, hence even their bones can still be found. It seems to be hell on earth, yet elephants, rhinos,
lions and the usual desert animals such as oryx, ostrich and springbok live here.
Rock formations with an age of 1.5 billion years can be found in this unusual area. They rank amongst the oldest worldwide.
To some visitors, this landscape changes from hell to heaven.
